The Peoria Housing Authority has a total of 118 homes we categorize as “Scattered Sites” available through the public housing program with the Department of Housing and Urban Development. The Housing Incentive Program is designed to help low-income families rent affordable housing. The Scattered Sites are comprised of single-family homes, duplexes and apartments. They are located across the city of Peoria.
The Housing Incentive Program is designed to promote family self-sufficiency. That means we help you continue your education with the goal of future home ownership.
Current residents may transfer to our Scattered Sites through our Housing Incentive Program, which outlines the following preferences:
Specific criteria are available for review with each application. To remain in the program, you must take proper care of the unit.
Rent is calculated the same as public housing. The rent for Scattered Sites is based on the family’s income at 30% of the adjusted gross income. A utility allowance is given for each home based on a yearly survey of average utility consumption.
